Mood boards

I like the use of different texture used in this mood board, it give it more character. The image at the top that looks like it has been torn a little is a interesting look; and gives the impression that it is a damaged poster. I believe that Photoshop was used to produce the ripped effect, by cutting out the torn shaped and layering a picture behind it.

The placement of this mood board is simple but effective. The images are just stuck down with tape, but by doing this it gives a rustic character. I enjoy the fact they have kept the images black and white but the but the tape is a different colour. Layering the images like they have done with this mood board also adds to the rustic vibe, as it looks like a collage.
The use of  Photoshop works well with this mood board as the photos are linked together, for example one of the models appears to be holding a photograph. The uses of a brown background brings attention to the photographs. I’m not a great fan of having words on a mood board, however I think it works well with this one. I think it is because the word looks like handwriting, which is flowy and delicate.

The contrast of pink paint works well against the black and white photos.  an additional detail to the  pink paint, is the dry media technique, which could have been produced by hand and scanned in or even by using the brush tools on Photoshop. Leaving a boarder around some of the images make it look more edgy, because they
appear like a collage.

This mood board doesn’t have the images to the boarder of the paper, which makes it look central. The use of fashion and advertisement inspires me to use this technique for my future mood board or trend board. The bright advertisement makes it standout but also works well with the different black images.
